Action Needed

“The battle for the judiciary holds in balance the outcome of the current culture war raging in America.”  Judge Charles Pickering

President Obama has nominated Michelle Taryn Friedland to the Ninth Circuit Court.  Next week the Senate Judiciary Committee will begin hearings on her confirmation.  Friedland should be opposed due to her radical views on Constitutional authority.  Contact both Senator Pat Toomey and Senator Bob Casey to register your concern.

“[The] constitution only creates rights to the extent a judiciary…says it does…”

Michele Malkin on Common Core Marketing

The foundational myth of Common Core is that it’s a “state-led” initiative with grassroots support that was crafted by local educators for the good of all of our children. But the cash and power behind the ongoing, massive ad campaign tell you all you need to know.  Get to know the Common Core marketing overlords.

Freedom of Religion

Our founders intended for Americans to have freedom to practice their religious beliefs without government intervention, but these day the practice of religion is being redefined by law, policy, and practice of an overreaching federal government.  The Affordable Care Act is one law that has brought this conflict into view of the American people as many non-profits and privately held corporations challenge Obamacare mandates that require people of faith to act against their deeply held beliefs.

This morning at 10 am the case of Conestoga v. Sebelius is being argued in the Supreme Court.  This case has far-reaching implications and it is imperative that SCOTUS comes to a Constitutionally sound decision.  To understand the details of this case click here.

Rep. Garth Everett to Discuss Marcellus Shale Royalties

Tune into PCN at 8 pm tonight to hear Rep. Garth Everett discuss legislation to address the practice of subtracting “post-production costs” from natural gas royalty payments.   A 1979 law that guaranteed minimum royalty payments to property owners does not sufficiently address natural gas extraction from Marcellus Shale.  Everett’s House Bill 1684, would update the law to remove any ambiguity and ensure that landowners receive the full compensation they rightly deserve.
