On June 5, 2014 SUNACRW passed a resolution in support of paycheck protection.
Whereas, Pennsylvania law currently allows taxpayer resources to be used to automatically collect public sector union dues; and
Whereas, this collection process benefits a private organization at taxpayer expense; and
Whereas, employees are subjected to forced collection without their personal approval; and
Whereas, unions use these monies to impact the political process through activities and expenditures on behalf of opposition candidates and for self-serving lobbying efforts; and
Whereas, taxpayer resources should not be used for any partisan political purpose; then,
Be it resolved, that SUN Area Council of Republican Women calls on the Pennsylvania legislature to quickly pass Paycheck Protection legislation to protect worker freedom and relieve Commonwealth taxpayers from the burden of supporting public sector unions.
