Heartfelt Thanks to Our Veterans

SUNACRW participated in the annual Veteran’s Weekend in Lewisburg June 24th and 25th.  Friday evening before the fireworks and Saturday after the parade we joined other vendors selling an array of food to the crowd.  Our fruit cups sales were very successful and will help fund upcoming projects, including the mailing costs for our Support Our Troops care packages.  We appreciate everyone’s support.  Thanks to all who helped prepare fruit, assemble the cups and man the booth.

RED ENVELOPE DAY

SUNACRW is once again encouraging pro-life citizens of the Central Susquehanna Valley to participate in Red Envelope Day.  Red Envelope Day™ is a national pro-life campaign with a goal to send 46 million empty red envelopes to the White House that have the following message written on the flap side:

“This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.  It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.  Responsibility begins with conception.”

Please send red envelopes to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20500

In 2009 over 10,000 red envelopes were sent from the three counties served by SUN Area Council of Republican Women.  In 2010 we hope to send even more so that we may meet the goal of sending one envelope for each pre-born child who lost his or her life by abortion.  If you, your family, church or organization chooses to send red envelopes please let us know by e-mailing us at sunacrw@yahoo.com.
Show your concern for unborn babies by wearing a Precious Feet pin.  Precious Feet are the size of pre-born baby’s feet at ten weeks of life.  Available from SUNACRW members.

The Margery Scranton Council of Republican Women of Lackawanna County hosted a brunch attended by PFRW director and SUNACRW President Irene Harris.

Veteran’s Administration Hospital Visit

This red, white and blue caravan took SUN Area Republican Women to the Wilkes Barre VA Hospital on Feb. 28th.

SUNACRW visited the VA Hospital to deliver the Valentines for Vets.  We also preformed a variety show for the vets who thoroughly enjoyed the music and company.
