In case you missed this morning’s Daily Item you may want to find a copy to read the Rick Dandes article reporting on his Q&A with Congressman Tom Marino. In it, Marino calls Obamacare a “total failure”, says it cannot be “sufficiently reformed” and stands steadfast for its repeal. It’s too bad all of Washington don’t take these positions. Moreover, it’s too bad all Washington Republicans don’t take these positions. A Rasmussen poll released last week found that 62 percent of likely voters believe that Republicans will repeal Obamacare. Congressman Marino seems to understand this.

Republican Jane Bolin was born this day in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was the first African-American woman to graduate from Yale Law School. In 1939 New York City Mayor LaGuardia appointed her to the NYC Domestic Relations Court making her the country’s first African-American female judge.
