PA Department of State has made improvements to the petition process for candidates who file in Harrisburg. The new process allows candidates to create personalized nomination packets. The electronic forms can then be reproduced and distributed to volunteers via print or digital means. The newly designed forms will carry a unique QR code that will allow signatures to be counted electronically once the petitions are filed.
There are some additional changes that will catch eyes. The forms will now hold 30 signatures and be printed head to head on 8.5 x 11 paper.
However, the collection of signatures remains the same. Completed forms will need to be notarized and will be filed with hard copies.
DOS will still provide printed forms upon request for candidates who do not wish to use the new electronic forms. Find out more here.
