Protest Planned Parenthood
Today on the 3rd annual National Day of Prayer and Protest Against Planned Parenthood we join with thousands of other groups and individuals to protest Planned Parenthood. As Planned Parenthood seeks to expand abortion in all 50 states and influence the November elections, our fellow Americans need to know the truth about this controversial organization, including their 35% share of the abortion market.
Planned Parenthood is a scourge on America; victimizing babies and mothers alike. While the number of abortions decrease, Planned Parenthood’s share of abortion performed in the US increases as they target minority and poor communities.
Planned Parenthood performs over 320,000 abortions a year. That is more than the entire population of Union, Snyder, Northumberland, Lycoming, Sullivan and Montour Counties. Imagine losing all those people every year. That is the potential and hope stolen from the United States by Planned Parenthood each year.
But that’s not all that is stolen from America and hardworking families. Even though abortion accounts for over 60% of all Planned Parenthood income, US taxpayers are paying to keep the lights on and provide advertising for PP clinics. US Taxpayers send $553 million a year to Planned Parenthood mostly through the federal government in spending bills such as the recent Omnibus.
It is time for all levels of government to defund Planned Parenthood and redirect appropriate funds to Federally Qualified Health Centers which provide a broader range of medical services for women and meet a higher standard of care.
We protest Planned Parenthood because we are horrified by their lack of concern for their clients, fraudulent Medicaid claims, selling of fetal body parts and protection of sexual predators and human traffickers.
