So was Benjamin Franklin’s response to Elizabeth Willing Powel’s question: “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?

Our September meeting kicked off with a short video followed by robust discussion about our American government. Although many people refer to America as a Republic, it is not; and the difference is not language, but a government by and for the people.
